Marija Šormaz and Jasna Dramićanin
Visual artists Marija Šormaz and Jasna Dramićanin were invited by the Faculty of Fine Arts of NUBL to implement their project “Touch of Two Worlds” which combines two mediums – sculpture and video works. The metal sculptures are arranged in a certain form, and the video works are projected onto the floor or the wall, in combination with the shadows of the sculptures it gives multilayered, multifaceted effects and thus connects two completely different media. Their goal were to connect to the local art scene, to have a workshop with students, an exhibition at NUBL faculty and at UDAS gallery. They wanted to work with professors and students from the faculty, artists and representatives of local arts institutions and journalists. The whole project was followed on social networks and public media.
We organized an exhibition in the gallery of the Cultural Center UDAS as we planned and we are satisfied with the response and the reaction of the audience. Collaboration with colleagues from UDAS and the NUBL Academy of Fine Arts was effective and creative. They helped us in every way and inspired us to work, but also they were delighted by the project and participated with a lot of enthusiasm in its implementation. The exhibition had good attendance and the audience was pleased with this unusual setting. We did an “art talk” workshop with students of Banja Luka Art Academy. They became interested in this kind of creation in which two different media interact, creating a whole new artistic expression. We also did a workshop at Georgij Stojkov Rakovski Primary School in Banja Luka with Professor Natasa Zole, which was more than planned. The children showed great creativity and their works delighted us.
